Barcalona is the new hotspot for billionaires and their superyachts

Barcelona has long been a hub for Spain’s ultra-rich. As reported in Knight Frank’s most recent Wealth Report, the Mediterranean city is home to over 108,225 high-net-worth individuals, of which 729 are ultra-high-net-worth with fortunes of over $30 million.

This European city is the new hotspot for billionaires and their superyachts Inside the Mediterranean marina pulling in the super-rich and their mammothboats

That's before the influx of those visiting for pleasure, using it as a leaping-off point for the Balearics, or in town for events like the Formula 1 race in May or the MYBA Charter Show, one of the most important superyacht fairs in the world.

Some of this has to do with MPV’s proximity to MB92, one of the world’s leading shipyards, which specialises in superyachts. This is the place superyachts go for everything from small tweaks to serious make-overs.

With its geographic location in relation to the Caribbean and Mediterranean, this means the marina receives a steady stream of super-rich yachtsmen hopping from one prime holiday location to the other.
